Discord Font Generator
Type your text and get 17 font styles you can copy straight into Discord. Use them in your username, server nickname, channel names, About Me, or a message. These are Unicode characters rather than a font file, so they work on desktop, web, and mobile without Nitro, without bots, and without changing any settings.

Where Discord Fonts Work
Discord has two separate ways to style text, and which one you need depends entirely on where the text is going. Unicode styles work anywhere Discord accepts characters. Markdown only works inside messages.
| Where | Use | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Username and nickname | Unicode styles | Paste a styled name straight in. Server nicknames can be changed per server. |
| Server and channel names | Unicode styles | Works, though channel names lowercase plain letters. Styled characters survive. |
| About Me and status | Unicode styles | Full support. This is where most people use a styled font. |
| Messages | Markdown, or Unicode | Markdown is the native way to bold or italicise. Unicode works too and survives quoting. |
| Code blocks | Neither | Discord renders code blocks in a fixed monospace font and ignores styling. |
Discord Markdown for Messages
Inside a message, Discord has its own formatting syntax built in. This is the right tool for bold or italic body text: it renders in Discord's own font, stays readable for everyone, and does not break search or screen readers the way Unicode styling can. Use the generator above for names and bios, and markdown for what you actually say.

The 17 Font Styles
Compatibility below refers to how reliably each style renders across Discord on Windows, macOS, Android, and iOS. Styles marked Good render correctly for most people but can fall back to plain letters on older devices that lack the glyphs.

Worth Knowing Before You Use It
- 1.Screen readers handle these badly. Unicode styled letters are mathematical symbols, not letters, so assistive technology may read them character by character or skip them entirely. Do not use styled text for anything someone needs to read, such as rules, instructions, or a channel description.
- 2.Search stops matching. Searching Discord for a plain word will not find its styled version, so a styled username is harder for people to find or mention.
- 3.Some servers block it. Moderation bots often reject styled nicknames, and some servers auto-rename accounts whose names are not readable.
- 4.Nothing here needs Nitro. Nitro changes what emoji and avatars you can use, not what characters you can type. Any tool charging for this is selling you copy and paste.
